Just tried this place for the first time, and it was great. I had the Penang bowl and my girlfriend tried building her own. Both were very good, and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who has not tried it yet. This place definitely deserves 5 stars from the service alone. Fitz was very welcoming and genuinely excited about the business.

Delicious food! I really like that they're conscious of keeping a low carbon footprint, and that they have vegan/vegetarian friendly options.The curry sauce is really tasty! : )

This is not your typical Asian restaurant. It is a fusion of Asian food and it was delicious. We had a big group of 9 individuals and everyone enjoyed their meal. The roti canai and various rice bowls were very delicious. Try the Penang Curry sauce. It was very good. The owner is very friendly and the service was great. If you are going to be near WSU or going to one of WSU games, try this place out. Really good food.

So happy to have great vegan options and to be able to choose wheat-free items as well! Great portions, great prices, fun atmosphere. Looking forward to going back in warmer weather for the outdoor seating facing the water feature.

Best Malaysian food you can get in Wichita!

Plenty of choices! In love with "Build a bowl" which I can choose what to eat, especially the grill chicken! However their dishes are not really hot like just cooked, but it's acceptable since they are like buffet. Will be back in someday!

The food was all preprocessed. Not authentic in any way. Prices weren’t bad and so glad we didn’t pay more. Waited for half the meal for our sides and one drink and got the other drink literally before we walked out the door.

The food here is excellent. I've been hooked from the first time I tried the food. The people are super friendly, and the owner is a really nice guy. I also appreciate how environmentally conscious they are in some of their practices. I highly recommend them.

Come to 19th st in WSU and have a great meal and great service...

We walked out full and satisfied. We all tried the build-a-bowl to customize what we want in it. I love the Turmeric rice! Staff was efficient and super friendly. We love their Boba Tea too!

I heard about this place & took a group for a quick business lunch. Amazing, fresh Asian food with very fresh ingredients, good price & great value. Plenty of protein & fresh veggies. Not drowned in sauce, but you can have it any way you like or pick your own ingredients. Everyone in our group of 5 thought it was great & had plenty.

Journey is a welcome addition to the WSU campus food offerings. The space with large south-facing windows and simple modern clean interior is pleasant. I had a spicy bowl. The good quantity of delicious food was 'American spicy', though I am sure I could have gotten 'actually spicy' if I had asked for it. (There are also plenty of mild menu items for those who prefer bland food ;) )Fitz says he will add boba tea and gelato in the near future. For now you'll have to head over to Starbucks for a sweet treat after lunch, but I was full from the main dish anyway.I am looking forward to the outdoor seating facing the pond when it gets warmer. We don't really have that anywhere else on campus.The food was served on actual dishes. No single use plastic or cardboard here (unless you take out, which is available).

It's amazing! No GMO and it's like Genghis, except better! Also. The staff are AMAZING and engaged my group and I wholly. Definitely coming back.

The food was very tasty and the staff very friendly and helpful. I had the Shocker Bowl and the pickled vegetables and beef we're especially tasty. You can design your own Bowl or have a pre-mixed Bowl made for you. I very much enjoyed the Shocker bowl but will design my own next time I visit.

Went here for lunch and had a fantastic experience. There's a choice between customizable bowls and pre-made bowls. I opted for the Penang bowl, which I highly recommend. The staff is also exceedingly friendly. Probably the best place to eat on the WSU campus! I will definitely be coming back.

Great food, a great option for Wichita State students and staff.

Got there just as it opened at 11 and the food was already cold. Didn't taste bad, but barely warm. The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because of their boba. Takes a little time to get it, but I will probably call in an order and get the boba.

Unsure where to start...The atmosphere is nice. The staff is friendly, and the food is delicious! I got a Seoul bowl and a Taro boba drink and my wife built her own bowl and got a smoothie on the side. The food is delicious, the drinks are tasty. Journey East is definitely worth the money! Pop in and give it a try. Definitely reccomend!

My daughter got the Build a Bowl and I got Seoul Bulgogi Rice Bowl. The food was very fresh and the portions were great for the price. It was very similar to chipotle in that you pointed out what items you wanted in your bowl and could substitute anything. The nice difference from Chipotle was that the options weren't giant batches that just sit around all day. They were made fresh as needed. One of the owners, Fitzgerald, came and spoke to us and was very kind. They have a beautiful patio out back with a gorgeous pond view. We ended up liking the food so much that we ordered more for my very picky husband and son, who loved the made from scratch food as well. If you like spicy food, ask for the hot spice!
